Trouva acquired…. again, this makes it five new owners in three years

Trouva’s revolving door of ownership has turned again. The online marketplace has now been acquired by Inspiration Commerce Group (ICG), its fifth new owner since 2022.

Marking a “brand new chapter” for the platform and an end to a turbulent start to the year, ICG plans to revive the brand with a renewed focus on “platform stability and vendor support”. It also plans international expansion into North America.

The group said Trouva, which provides a platform for independent stores and boutiques that don’t have an online retail presence, will benefit from its “operational capabilities, financial infrastructure, and deep industry relationships”, with an emphasis on ensuring reliable payments and consistent service.

The company has already set up a dedicated ‘Boutique Success Team’ to fast-track overdue payments and introduce a clearer invoicing system.

Updates will include a phased refresh of the website featuring faster checkout, better search functionality, and improved integration with boutique inventory systems.

ICG also plans to ramp up marketing activity “to re-engage customers, highlight high-performing boutiques, and fuel expansion”.

ICG founder and chief executive Andrew Ladouceur said: “Our track record with brands such as Stylight and My Best Brands has shown that when you combine a passion for curation with disciplined operational execution, you can unlock tremendous value for both shoppers and boutique partners.

“Trouva embodies the very spirit of discovery that we cherish, and we intend to invest heavily in its platform, vendor relationships, and customer experience.”

The retail platform was previously taken over by GCG Capital in February after entering pre-pack administration and a temporary suspension of trading in January.
