Nobody’s Child has been making plenty of announcements lately and fresh from news of a raft of new stores and its entry into resale, the company this week said it has launched its first footwear collection.

Best known for its dresses, it has now unveiled a line-up of seven different summer-focused shoe styles.
We’re told that the offer — designed at its base in London but made in Italy — “blends timeless silhouettes with a contemporary edge”.
It includes pieces such as “artisanal” suede clogs and “sleek” leather sandals built around “a sophisticated, earthy palette — rich chocolate tones, warm tobacco hues, and bold cow print textures”. All leathers are certified by the Leather Working Group with all styles produced “in collaboration with eco-conscious partners and made using sustainable materials” such as vegan leather, recycled rubber soles, and low-impact dyes. Prices range from £105 to £115.
CEO Jody Plows said a footwear move has long been on her wishlist and has been a popular customer request. She added that the move “is a natural next step for Nobody’s Child as we evolve into a true lifestyle brand”. That statement suggests further category expansion is to come, although based on the company’s progress so far, it’s likely to be a cautious expansion process.
That said, the company doesn’t hold back from moving quickly when it makes commercial sense and this year has already been a busy one so far. The footwear news comes just a few weeks after the brand opened its latest store in Brighton with Leeds next on the agenda and also a few weeks after it linked up with eBay and Reskinned for its first move into the resale space. It also recently launched a summer collection collaboration with actress/model Poppy Delevingne.
